pressureseekers has an outlet in Torquay, on the harbour. Conveniently located for shore diving at the beautiful Beacon Cove only 100mts around the corner or hopping straight onto a charter boat for a days diving in the bay. Courses will be taught in a purpose built facility located within the bay and the open water dives completed on beautiful South West coast.
You can choose to complete the theory and pool work near Staines and then complete the open water dives on the coast instead of in the lake if you wish.
Coastal orientation dives can be arranged for those who have only dived in inland waters.
There is a public car park at the harbour, along with waterside retail including cafes, water sports centre, gallery and clothing stores. For non diving activities, there is The Living Coasts – part of Paignton Zoo, featuring a coastal zoo including puffins, fur seals and even has penguins wandering around!
Other local dives sites include the wonderful Babbacombe Bay – a cuttlefish breeding ground (pictured), Brixham Breakwater, Orestone and Thatchers Rocks, Watcombe Caves and the wrecks of the Bretagne and Galicia, to name just a few.
Just an hour down the road is Plymouth, which is home to the Scylla, the UK’s first artificial reef.
Accommodation and places to eat are plentiful in Torquay but to save some legwork, here is the PS Guide to the South West…
